Festival US Steam Beer has 5% toffee, and caramel notes with a light earthy character finished off with a firm bitterness.

  • Make 40 pints of approx 5% beer. 
  •  Include two pouches (3kg) of premium liquid malt extract, hopped for bitterness.
  •   Include a 10g sachet of brewer's yeast. 
  •  It consists of a sachet of hop pellets made up of appropriate mixed varieties of hops to create the right beer style.
  •  A measured pack of priming sugar is included in each kit.

Equipment Needed :You will require basic brewing equipment to make a beer kit

Here is a simple starter kit to allow you to make the beer if you have not already got brewing equipment

Below is a list of the essential equipment needed to make a beer kit

Fermenting Bin 25 ltrs + - To ferment the beer in

Pressure Barrel or Pet Bottles, two packs enough for 5 gallons of beer - To Store and condition the beer ready for drinking

Syphon Equipment - To aid in moving the beer from the fermenter to the barrel or bottles

Hydrometer - Used To Measure the gravity of the beer when it starts and finishes

LCD Thermometer - Sticks on the fermenting bin to help you get the right brewing temperature 16oC - 24oC is best for beer

Steriliser: Not equipment, but keeping all equipment clean and sterilised when used is essential.

Water: Beer is made from 95% water. Tap water will be fine; filtering is better to remove the chlorine will help give you the best result.
