A very recent addition to the range of malts available to the homebrewer. Strongly flavoured and distinctive.
It provides a distinctively dry, nutty flavour.
Use sparingly in dark beers.
Colour 100-120 EBC
Maximum percentage 10% (more if strong rye flavour is required)
Rye Malt is a light grain that can blend with discretion in many beer styles.
Traditionally Rye Malt has been used, with Crystal and Roasted Rye Malt, to brew the classic German top-fermented Roggenbier.
It can also be used successfully in Pale Ales, IPAs and Red Beer.
Colour 4-6 EBC Maximum Percentage of 50%
