La Trappe Tripel

The Koningshoeven Brewery is one of the few Trappist breweries in the world authorised to use the ‘Authentic Trappist Product’ logo. Because ale can only be called Trappist ale when it has been brewed between the four walls of a Trappist monastery, under the supervision of the monastery’s monks, and when part of the proceeds is earmarked for charity. Pure and honest. And that’s reflected in the taste.

La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. This ale owes its crisp and spicy character to the use of coriander and herbs, as well as to post-fermentation in the bottle. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
