Belleverne Beaujolais Villages Nouveau 2022

Always released on the 3rd Thursday of November, Beaujolais Nouveau is the celebrated French wine, picked, vinified and released for sale within about 8 weeks of the harvest.

Château de Belleverne is owned by the Bataillard family – Didier, his brother Alain and nephew Michael. Founded on just 8ha in 1969, the family’s vineyards now total 36ha with plots in four of the ten Beaujolais Cru. They have produced this wonderful Beaujolais Nouveau which owes its easy drink style to the wine-making process, carbonic maceration, also called whole berry fermentation. This technique preserves the fresh, fruit quality of the wine, without extracting bitter tannins from the grape skins, the result a fun light red wine with bags of fruit traditional drunk slightly chilled.
