BLACK MALT 500g Thomas Fawcett  (crushed or uncrushed grain)

As the name suggests, Black Malt is used in brewing darker beers such as milds, stouts and porters.

It is produced by roasting British Pale Malt as far as possible without burning.

Black malt should be used sparingly (no more than 5% of the total malt content of your brew) as it has a robust burnt coffee flavour.

It is the malt of choice for darkener in sweeter Stouts and Porters and is used for minor colour adjustments in other beers.

Colour 1400 EBC; Maximum percentage 10%
