The balls are 2-1/4 inch (57.2mm) in size. These balls are only designed to be used on American pool tables and are not compatible with UK pool or snooker. Please double check your table ball size before purchasing.

What is a lag ball?

The lag is the first shot of the match, and it determines the order of play. Each player shoots the lag ball from the head of the table and must strike the bottom end rail and have the ball return up the table to finish as close to head rail as possible.

The player whose lag ball finishes closest to the head rail wins the lag and then can decide who shoots first. It is acceptable for the lag ball to contact the head rail before coming to rest.
